Plastic🍼

Plastic plastic everywhere,
Little does one think.
Plastic plastic everywhere,
Makes my rookie heart sink.

They say, oceans will have more plastic than fish by Twenty Fifty (2050)
Are we sure, we aren't getting our hands that dirty?

A threat bigger than any nuclear weapon,
Continue with plastics and you will reckon.

"What's left untouched by plastics?" makes me keen,
No seas, no oceans, not even the Himalayas pristine.

Bans won't work unless we do,
Every citizen, a bit, will make the difference ought to.

Fruits, vegetables, groceries and cutlery
You don't need plastic bags for them to carry.

Plastic bottles can easily be replaced by metal ones,
That alone will reduce the plastic waste by tonnes.

Tea will taste the same in glass,
Though avoiding plastic may bring in some class.

Only common men (and novice bloggers obviously) can prevent outcomes drastic,
Because politics and bureaucracy themselves are plastic*

I know, it is difficult to elude plastics completely from our life,
But, trust me, plastic is not as stubborn as your wife.

Little little efforts are going to take us far,
After all, this fight is no less than a war.

* used as a metaphor here meaning not sincere.
